Ja, so meinte ich das doch auch: ich mache das Volume platt (ja, führt zu Datenverlust), lege das Volume dann als 32 TB RAID 6 neu an (basierend auf den bereits verbauten 4 x 16 TB Platten) und spiele dann die Daten-Backups zurück und auch die Systemeinstellung.

Normalerweise sollte das nicht dazu führen, dass sich das Volume wieder in ein 8 TB legacy volume zurückverwandelt, sondern nur die Zugriffsrechte wiederherstellen auf die Daten bzw. Pfade wiederherstellen.

Dabei sollte auch das QTS ja erhalten bleiben, da ich ja die Platten nur neu einrichte, aber nicht austausche.

Oder habe ich da noch was übersehen?

So, ich habe zumindest Teil 1 der geplanten Kapazitätserweiterung erfolgreich erledigt.

Auf TS-459 Pro (FW 4.2.6.20210327) habe ich die 4 x 4 TB Platten durch 4 x 8 TB ersetzt, formartiert und als JBOD eingebunden (dient nur als Backup, daher keine Redundanz erforderlich).

Nach Anlegen der Volumes - Root-Verzeichnisse und dem Rückspielen der zuvor gesicherten Systemeinstellungen war es weniger Aufwand als gedacht (die User-Accounts und Zugriffsrechte etc. waren ja in den Systemeinstellungen gesichert).

Teil 2 wird gerade vorbereitet: ich sichere die Daten vom TS-451+ (Raid 6 mit 4 x 16 TB, aber bisher eben nur 4 x 4 TB = 8 TB genutzt, da Plattentausch mit anschließendem Rebuild von legacy volume) auf das TS-459 Pro, dann werden die Systemeinstellungen gesichert und ich mache das RAID-Volume platt und erstelle es neu mit 32 TB (4 x 16 TB in Raid 6) und sichere alles wieder zurück und spiele die Systemeinstellungen wieder ein - hoffe, dass dies gut geht.

Update von TS-451+ auf 4.5.3.1652 soeben durchgeführt ( 3 Apps haben danach ein Update gemacht - License Center, QSync Central, Multimedia Console) - bisher keine Auffälligkeiten.

Ja, das ist auch ein legacy volume - ja, ich habe die vorherigen 4x 8 TB Platten nach und nach durch 4x 16 TB Platten ersetzt und jeweils das RAID 6 Rebuild abgewartet - es läuft auch alles.

Nur kann ich eben die Kapazität nicht von jetzt 16 TB auf die theoretisch möglichen 32 TB erweitern, der Menüpunkt ist ausgegraut bzw. nicht vorhanden.

Also muss ich wohl alle Daten sichern und dann das Volume neu formatieren und dann die Daten zurückspielen.

Ich möchte aber nicht alle User-Accounts mit Rechten, Passwörtern und alle Verzeichnisse manuell neu anlegen müssen - deswegen meine Frage, ob das über eine Sicherung der Systemeinstellungen und dann dem Rückspielen geht und ob das schon mal jemand auf diesem Wege gemacht hat?

Nochmals Danke im Voraus für Hilfestellungen bzw. Erfahrungsberichte zu dieser Problematik.

ich habe ein ganz ähnliches Problem bei meinen TS-451+ mit einem 16 TB RAID 6 Volume und wollte daher alle Daten wegsichern, die Systemeinstellungen sichern, dann das RAID 6 Volume (es 4 x 16 TB Platten. d.h. das neue RAID 6 Volume könnte bis zu 32 TB groß sein) neu aufsetzen, dann die Systemeinstellungen wiederherstellen (so dass alle Verzeichnisse mit den Usern und den Rechten etc. wieder da sind) und dann die Sicherung zurückspielen.

Speziell interessiert mich, dass alle User mit Rechten dann noch da sind und ich nicht alle Verzeichnisse wieder selbst mit den Rechten und Passwörtern wieder neu anlegen muss.

Hat das schon mal jemand so erfolgreich gemacht?

Die Firmware ist wohl zurückgezogen worden; sie ist weder downloadbar noch aufgelistet.

Tja, wieder was gelernt - ich sollte doch wieder mindestens 4 Wochen warten, bevor ich eine neue Firmware installiere.

(Trotzdem läuft sie bei mir, aber ich habe auch kaum anspruchsvolle Sachen laufen)

Aktualisierung TS-451+ von 4.5.2.1594 auf 4.5.2.1630 verlief problemlos.

Wegen 2x Reboot (1x vor dem Upgrade und 1x nach dem Upgrade) dauerte es insgesamt fast 25 min.

Qsync Central 4.3.0.4 wurde aufgrund der neuen Firmware aktualisiert/installiert.

Ansonsten habe ich bisher keine Auffälligkeiten festgestellt.

Ich habe soeben das Update meines NAS TS-451+ von 4.5.2.1566 auf 4.5.2.1594 nach Reboot durchgeführt.

Soweit problemlos, Peripherie wird erkannt (USB-Platte und USV) - es sieht alles normal aus, ich nutze allerdings auch nicht viele Dienste/apps.

Qsirch hat zur Zeit ca. 24% - 27% CPU load, ist aber anfangs jedes Mal so...

HBS 3 hat noch alle Jobs im Scheduler, morgen sehe ich dann, ob sie ohne Fehler durchlaufen.

Habe mein QNAP TS-451+ soeben von 4.5.1.1540 auf 4.5.2.1566 aktualisiert.

Keine Auffälligkeiten/Besonderheiten bisher; nichts ist gefühlt schneller oder langsamer geworden.

Jobs in HBS3 sind noch alle da.

Es gab ein Update für License Center (1.6.15 => 1.6.16), das musste ich manuell anstossen, obwohl ich das schon bei der 4.5.1.1540 auf 1.6.16 aktualisiert hatte.

QSync Central hat sich auch auf 4.3.0.3 aktualisiert - das ging automatisch und ich weiß nicht, welche Version das vorher hatte.

LMS wird ständig weiterentwickelt (http://downloads.slimdevices.com/) - das ist also nicht 'ausgestorben', sondern eben nur 'unsigniert' und daher als 'potentiell gefährlich' eingestuft.

Ist ja auch korrekt, man muss schon wissen, aus welchen Quellen man was auf seinem NAS installiert.

TS-451+ Upgrade von 4.4.3.1439 auf 4.5.1.1540 nach vorherigem und nachfolgendem Neustart - keine Probleme, außer dem bekannten Effekt,

dass Apps ohne gültige Signatur nur nach vorherigem Ausschalten des entsprechenden Checks in den App Center-Einstellungen gestartet werden dürfen.

Ansonsten alles normal, sogar die Jobs aus Backup-Station wurden einwandfrei in Hybrid Backup Sync 3 übernommen.

Zugriffe auf Home-Verzeichnisse laufen ebenfalls sofort und ohne Probleme (hatte vor und nach Update neu gestartet).

Ram- und CPU-Nutzung nach anfänglichem Peak wieder im normalen Bereich.

Transferraten auch normal.

(Für die, die Details lieben: Für LogitechMediaServer ist Start per SSOTS (= Squeezebox Server On Turbo Station) noch möglich,

aber man muss direkt auf die LMS page gehen; das geht nicht mehr über das App Center.
SSOTS geht noch über App Center; beide App-Icons (LMS und SSOTS) haben nun ein Ausrufezeichen (!) in der App Center-Übersicht)

Update von TS451+ verlief ohne Probleme, allerdings ohne irgendwelche VMs oder ähnliches. Es laufen nur der SqueezeboxServer, SSOTS, SMB File Share, Download/Photo/Music/Video Station etc. im LAN, sonst nichts.
